ABOUT:
Oh What a Lovely War, Joan Littlewood’s legendary musical, was first presented at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East in March 1963.
It is a satirical masterpiece which was made into a classic film in 1969 starring Maggie Smith, John Gielgud and John Mills
This highly acclaimed revival was once more presented there to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War I. Directed by award winning Terry Johnson, it is a riot of music and colour, deeply moving and featuring some of the greatest songs from the First World War. A wonderful musical tribute to the men and women who gave their lives to save our nation over 100 years ago.
I was delighted to work as Head of Sound on this historic and iconic piece of theatre.
